There are so many options when it comes to eyeliners. There are different formulation like cream, liquid, gel etc; different application options in the form of pencil, brush tips, felt tips etc. My personal favourite is the brush-tip eyeliner which I feel works the best for me. A soft brush-tip pen provides the most precision and control for my case. The brush texture also helps the product to glide on smooth without tugging. Overall I feel more comfortable and confident (which means less shaky) using this type of application. Today, I’m going to do a quick shoutout to my top 4 eyeliners (not in any order of preference) that I always reach out for. These are all waterproof hence long-lasting, pigmented and budget-friendly (no more than US$25 each). Clio Kill Brown Waterproof Brush Liner (Brown) This is a Korean high street brand but the product is formulated in Japan. This colour has a bit more red tone compared to Eyeko Visual Eyes in Mocha which you can see in the swatches further down the page. Eyeko Visual Eyes Liquid Eyeliner (Mocha) The colour is a rich chocolate brown. More intense than the Clio version. This product is labelled as Made in Japan (assembled in Korea). Bought this at a discount in a Sephora store last year but I noticed this is no longer listed on Eyeko brand site now; and no longer available in my local Sephora stores. Wonder if this has been discontinued? Anyone knows? Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (Trooper) This is one of those YouTube-made-me-buy-it items. Kat Von D range is not available locally so I had to go through a bit of trouble to get my hands on this. Well, what can I say? I'm a makeup junkie. It is really as good as the beauty community raved about. Enjoy using this very much but I try to save this for special occasions since it’s not something that I can just walk into a store to repurchase. On comparison with the Stila Stay All Day™ formula, this dries down to a more matte finish which I prefer. This is also cruelty-free! Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (Intense Black/ Jet Black) This formula looks wet and a little glossy. I love the colour intensity but the small gripe I have is that this takes a bit longer to dry. I need to make sure it dries down completely before I start working on other parts of my face. Otherwise it will smudge on me. That’s why I always have a small cardboard at my vanity that I use to fan it upon application to help it dry faster. So there you have it….my top picks for eyeliners :) Hope you find this lil' sharing helpful. As always, thanks for reading! Are there other good and budget-friendly eyeliners you think that I should try? Feel free to drop a suggestion. Would love to hear that!
