During the week, I enjoy taking my own sweet time to meticulously put on makeup. Feel sort of like a play therapy. Sounds weird isn’t it? It’s something I look forward to start my day with, well, apart from a nice hot cuppa coffee. Um... It’s a different story when it comes to weekends. I sleep in on weekends so that leaves me little time to get ready. Instead of 20-30 min that I buffer for my makeup ritual on weekdays, I usually only have about 10 min to get my face ready and head out. That’s why I always opt for for a natural no-makeup makeup look during weekend with the help of a simple mix of products; skip a few steps to help me look presentable super fast. Today, I’m going to share with you my 5-min version of my weekend makeup routine. Step 1: FaceIope air cushion® XP Natural (SPF50+/PA+++) is THE foundation that I reserved for weekend use. This is an easy to use cushion foundation to even out my skin tone. This has light coverage so using a concealer is often needed in my case and I use Kiko Full Coverage Concealer in 02 (Natural). It's great that the cushion foundation comes with high SPF for protection against UV rays. What I absolutely adore is how frill less the application process is. Just press the puff onto the sponge to pick up foundation and pat pat pat onto the face. Easy, hassle-free and uber fast way to get some coverage for a natural looking complexion. The Iope Air Cushion comes in a few different finishes. I use C23 (Cover Beige) which translates to Coverage and 23 denotes the shade number which is actually the darkest available in that range. It’s still a tad too light for me but I can still work with. Wish they expand the color range to cater to medium to dark skin tones. It can also get messy with the puff when you pressed it into the sponge too hard to pick up the foundation which will spill over the puff to the back where you’re holding. To be honest, it can get pretty disgusting over time using a stained puff with foundation that you can’t wash off. Despite all these, I still enjoy using the air cushion. It super easy to apply specially you are in a time crunch. Step 2: BrowsI stick to my daily brow staple - Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Duo in Dark Brown. Once in awhile, I’ll turn to IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil to shave off a few seconds or for times when I just don’t have the mood to carefully and patiently fill in my brows using a brush. Step 3: CheeksMy fave blush for a simple natural look is Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. This is a very well-loved blush in the beauty community so no further introduction need. Like many others, I love love love this colour. It gives a nice pop of colour to the cheeks with a touch of health glow that complements very well with a no-makeup look. Step 4: LipsNow comes the finishing touch to this compressed makeup routine. Lipstick of course!! Especially for a lipstick addict like me. I normally opt for a soft colour like pinky nude or mauve pink to tie in the overall natural look. It really depends on my mood there and then on which lipstick to go for. Here are a couple I often used but of course not limited to these #lipstickjunkie 😉 .
I skip the eye makeup to keep to the whole look really simple; as well as any pressed or loose powder. If I’m looking a bit pasty that da, I would just apply bronzer with a few quick general strokes to warm up my face. Otherwise, I’m happy with just using the cushion foundation alone.
Sounds really easy isn’t it. It’s a totally different story when it comes to my weekday makeup routine. Thanks for reading as always! Do you have a different weekday vs weekend makeup routine? I would love to hear more about it.
