I finally get my hands on ColourPop products! Woohoo! ColourPop delivers only within US at this time so I got my stash from Airfrov this round. It's a platform where shoppers connect with travellers to seek help with purchases from overseas. Anyway, the most important thing here is I FINALLY got to try out their products that have been such a craze on the web. Their pricing is unbelievably great too so I feel less of a pinch to get a few more colours to try. Here’s a quick look and first impressions: Lippix Stix (US$5 per pop) Here's a run down of colours as described on ColourPop website. Mostly true to the description except for Brink.
These, overall have good colour payoff and are comfortable on the lips. There is a slight scent with most of these. Some bloggers described it as sweet or vanilla-y. Maybe there’s something wrong with my sense of smell ;P Does not smell sweet to me at all… somehow reminds me of rust or others may describe it as synthetic (maybe?) but luckily it’s not overpowering. Doesn’t linger after application so I fine with it. Not a deal breaker. Ultra Matte Lip (US$6 per pop)
Ultra Satin Lip (US$6 per pop)
I didn’t have a good experience with liquid lipstick but that didn’t stop me from trying out their Ultra Matte/ Satin Lip. It also helps when top beauty bloggers give these their two thumbs up! And boy, oh boy, am I glad to give it a go! Exerted a bit of self control and limit to trying out just a couple of these. Hugely impressed! These are both comfortable on the lips and long-lasting. I don't exfoliate my lips before application but these still go on smooth. It has a watery texture but does not turn out patchy. No/ negligible scent. The colour starts to feather a little halfway through day so am wondering if I should have gotten the matching lippie pencil as well. Would that have stopped the feathering? Any advice? Super Shock Cheek (US$8 per pop)
Overall I’m quite happy with these and Hippo is quite a unique colour. I was worried it’ll be too cool for my skintone but it turned out alright. When I swatched these for the first time (like how I would swatch any other highlighters or eye shadows), I was so amazed how buttery these are. Made a dent on the product - oopsie! Oh I didn’t include the swatches cos it’s really hard to capture the effect and colour difference. Hopefully a close up on the actual product will help you instead in case you are keen in their highlighters. Sculpting Stix (US$5 per pop)
I do enjoy using this product which is part of the Jamie King x ColourPop collab. Blendable and I love the precision it gives for cheekbones and nose contouring, if you are into that. All in all, I’m happy with my ColourPop haul. Irresistibly good pricing, cruelty-free, paraben-free, endless colour options and quality products. What more can I ask for? I would definitely love to try out more of their products and other colours. Well done ColourPop... Well done.
